Nero d'Avola
Description
Nero d'Avola is Sicily's signature red wine, the grape itself having been named after the town of Avola in the far southwest of Sicily, where it has been grown for several hundred years. An intense nose of red plums, cherry and mocha follows through to the palate. Lashings of black fruit, supple tannins, and a subtly Shiraz-like black pepper savoury touch. Partner with lamb chops grilled with thyme and garlic.
